Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about TNI Tampa programs, tuition, and what happens after you graduate.

What is an EEG?

An electroencephalogram (EEG) is a non-invasive test that records the brain's electrical activity using small electrodes placed on the scalp. EEGs help physicians diagnose seizures, epilepsy, sleep disorders, brain injuries, and other neurological conditions. The video below walks through the fundamentals.

What will I learn at TNI Tampa?

You will learn the full scope of clinical EEG practice — patient preparation, the international 10-20 electrode placement system, recording technique, artifact recognition, EEG patterns across age groups, and the documentation standards expected in hospitals and clinics. The video below shows the 10-20 electrode application you will master in our lab.

What does board certification look like?

Graduates sit for the ABRET R.EEG T. credential — the nationally recognized board exam for registered EEG technologists. It has a written portion covering theory and a practical portion covering EEG interpretation. The video below explains the pathway and what to expect.
