What Is an EEG?
An electroencephalogram (EEG) is a test that measures and records the electrical activity of the brain. Small sensors called electrodes are placed on the scalp to detect brain signals. EEGs are used by neurologists to diagnose and monitor conditions like epilepsy, sleep disorders, brain injuries, and other neurological conditions.
EEG technologists are the trained professionals who perform these tests — placing the electrodes, operating the equipment, and ensuring the recording is accurate. It's a hands-on, patient-facing role that sits at the intersection of technology and healthcare.
